Why should a Sewage treatment plant be installed?

Right at the beginning, the thing that is needed to be understood is what Sewage treatment actually is? Sewage treatment is a process through which wastewaters from domestic areas, industrial areas, and agricultural areas have been released. These wastewaters contain a huge amount of contaminants, pollutants and harmful chemicals which if mixed with normal water or environment may cause massive damage to the common people. So Sewage treatment plant is very much needed for the well-being of people and helps everyone to lead a disease less life. Having proper waste management is very much necessary for the welfare of the people. If the contaminated water flows everywhere people will get very much sick and epidemics will break out. Sewage treatment plant sounds like work so easy but it is actually tougher than anyone can imagine ever.

The wastewater can be many types like domestic, industrial and agricultural. Domestic wastewater is basically toilet water, laundry water, and kitchen water. Domestic wastewater can also be generally divided into two types. These are grey water and black water. Greywater ones are wastewater which is produced by cleaning clothes and dishes. Whereas black water is the wastewater comes generally from toilets and have urine and fecal matters mixed with it. The domestic sewage treatment plant is majorly concerned with this black water and the entire plant depends on the management of black water. If the black water is not managed properly and wrongly disposed it may cause severe health problems and diseases. The black water cannot be disposed carelessly into the rivers, lakes, and streams and it needs to be treated well beforehand.

The domestic water management system is also being categorized into three parts in Sewage management plants. Those three categories are, primary, secondary and tertiary.  In the primary stage, the solid wastes are separated from the liquid one. This is a very important step because solid waste and liquid waste are treated very differently. The secondary treatment step is categorized again in three parts and those three parts are activated sludge, fixed-film system, and suspended growth system. In the last or the tertiary stage, the water is treated with chemicals so that the contaminants and toxins are released. In this process, and is used to filter the microparticles that are mixed with the water. But if the sand is not able to filter the charcoal assists removes the residual toxins. After cleaning the entire liquid it is released in the rivers and other water bodies.

So it is quite obvious that sewage treatment is a must to have a healthy life. Not only sewage treatment plant helps in building up the health of normal people, but it also helps to keep the environment clean. In the present day when the world is fighting with problems like pollution and climate change, it is very necessary that we take measures to keep our environment clean and do not let all the chemicals and toxins to mix up with the environment.
